Do PSCs need to verify their identity?
Yes. A PSC is a person who owns or controls a company under the statutory conditions. An individual PSC must verify their identity and provide the personal code and verification statement required by Companies House.
Statutrak does not perform verification or submit a PSC statement. It reads the public record so you can see what Companies House currently exposes before following the official process.
What is the PSC 14-day period?
The applicable 14-day period depends on the PSC’s role and the company event involved. It is not a generic date that can be calculated from the company’s accounts date or from a blanket transition date.
If the PSC is also a director of the same company
The person has separate director and PSC obligations. As a director, they provide the code through the confirmation-statement process. As a PSC, they must also provide the code for the PSC role. For this combined role, the PSC 14-day period starts on the day after the company’s confirmation statement date.
If the PSC is not also a director
For an existing PSC who is not a director of the same company, the applicable period is generally the first 14 days of the PSC’s birth month. Check the current GOV.UK role guidance for the circumstances that apply to the record.
New PSCs after 18 November 2025
A new PSC may provide the personal code when first added to the register or within the applicable 14-day period. The official event and filing route control the timing; Statutrak does not turn the transition date into an individual deadline.
Director and PSC are separate roles
Identity verification itself is completed once, and the same personal code can be reused. The verified identity still needs to be connected to each relevant role and company appointment. Someone who is both a director and a PSC should complete both role-specific steps.

How to check PSC verification status
Search a company name or number above, inspect the active individual PSC records and review the status or official dates returned by Companies House. Corporate and legal-person PSC records are different record types and are not treated as individual identity-verification records here.
If you need to verify identity or provide a PSC statement, start from the official PSC verification service on GOV.UK.
If you cannot provide the verification details on time, the official PSC service explains when a 14-day extension may be requested. Any request must be made before the verification deadline passes.
What if Companies House shows no PSC due date?
A status without a due date means that the current public record or API response does not supply that particular official date. It does not mean no action is required. Statutrak reports the status and available dates without inventing an estimate.
