What is a Companies House personal code?
The personal code is an 11-character code issued after you successfully verify your identity for Companies House. It identifies your verified person when you connect that identity to director and PSC appointments.
The code belongs to the individual rather than the company. Statutrak does not collect, store or need it for the public company-status checker.
Where can I find my personal code?
For GOV.UK One Login verification, sign in to the Companies House account associated with the verification and use the account area described in the official guidance, such as Manage account. Use the same account or email route that you used for verification.
If you verified after 8 July 2026, current Companies House guidance says your personal code was also sent to your email address. Treat that as guidance for the route currently available to your account, not as a permanent promise that every code will arrive by email. Read the official personal-code guidance for the current instructions.
If an Authorised Corporate Service Provider completed your verification, follow the Companies House guidance and contact that provider where you need help locating the code or confirming the route used.
Do I get a different code for each company?
No. The personal code belongs to you and the same code can be used to connect your verified identity to relevant appointments in more than one company. You still need to complete the role-specific submission for each appointment where Companies House requires it.
How directors use the personal code
Existing directors provide the code as part of the company’s next confirmation statement. New directors provide it through the appointment or incorporation filing route. See the director identity-verification guide for the distinction.
How PSCs use the personal code
Individual PSCs provide the code and verification statement through the Companies House process for the PSC role. A person who is both director and PSC must connect the verified identity to both roles. See the PSC identity-verification guide for the 14-day rules.
Keep your personal code secure
Treat the code as sensitive account and compliance information. Keep it in a secure place and share it only when genuinely necessary with a trusted person who is filing for you. Do not enter it into Statutrak or send it to an unverified service.
